Warrant Question for Police in Canada?

Okay....quick question preferably from someone who knows the answer...not guessing. My friend and I were sitting in a park the other night....4 police cruizers pulled up with 2 police officers in each car..plus a K9 unit....they asked us for ID....asked if we called a suicide prevention hotline....we did not. The police ran our names...I can back clean...but my friend has a youth record....she is now an adult. The police pulled her aside and said to her that they have dealt with her umteen million times...asked her to tell the truth....she never called any hotline..said if they found out she did...they were arresting her for public mischeif...then the officer told me he thought I was lieing to protect my friend....and that he never believed a word we said. Then another officer told my friend it was okay if she called the hotline....she wasn't going to get into trouble....after the other officer told her she was going to get arrested. The asked for both of our phones....we gladly abided
