I need help with 2 science questions...can someone PLEASE help me out here? :o)?

With regards to sunlight the energy per square meter at the equator is the greatest on earth. This is because the sunlight is coming down nearly perpendicular to the earth's surface and therefore has a much shorter trip through the atmosphere. Much less of the sunlight is filtered out. At the poles the energy per square meter is a small fraction of what it is at the equator since the shallow angle means that much more of the sunlight is filtered out. Even though above the arctic circle the sun never sets in the summer the amount of heat the ground receives is a tiny fraction of what happens at the equator.
